Track the sources AI cites. Save each query once. Build a daily or weekly citation history.

Each saved check runs one query through the citations primitive and stores the source list. Optionally watch one URL to see whether it was cited and by which selected models, then review the history in Cite42 or through MCP.

TRACKER REPORT QUESTIONS

Ask your AI about stored tracker data.

After a scheduled or manual run, Cite42 stores the structured result and comparable change so your connected AI can retrieve and summarize it through MCP.

  • Is my blog post getting cited by AI?

You ask your AI“Is my blog post getting cited by AI?”
    MCP runs/v1/citations
Your AI saysYes. The lookup reports cited: true, with Perplexity and ChatGPT in citedBy for the latest run. It includes the key result, source context, and next step...
  • Which models cite this URL, and how much?

You ask your AI“Which models cite this URL, and how much?”
    MCP runs/v1/citations
Your AI saysThree selected models cite the source in this run, so its count is 3 and those model IDs appear in citedBy. It includes the key result, source context, and next step...
CITATION HISTORY

Watch the source set for a saved query.

Save a query and an optional URL, run the citation primitive daily or weekly, and preserve which sources each selected model cited in every report.

  • Store source URL, title, citing models, and model count.
  • Check whether one specific URL was cited.
  • See new and lost sources between comparable runs.

HOW IT WORKS

Save. Schedule. Review.

Save up to 25 checks, choose daily or weekly, then review every stored report in Cite42 or through MCP.

  1. Choose one query for each citation check.
Optionally add one exact URL when you want the response to report whether that page was cited. Add more saved checks for other queries or URLs.
  2. Run the saved queries daily or weekly.
Choose the model selection, local run time, and timezone. Confirm a maximum cost for the complete tracker run before activation.
  3. Inspect sources in Cite42 or through MCP.
Each run stores the sources, citedBy models, and count for every URL. If you supplied a URL, the lookup also stores whether it was cited and by which selected models.
EXAMPLE USE CASES

Three ways to use this tracker.

A few practical ways teams use AI citation tracker.

  • Saved query

    Track one source landscape.

Each saved check asks one stable question and stores the distinct sources returned by the AI models you selected.
  • URL lookup

Watch one page inside the result.

Optionally supply your page or a competitor page and keep whether it was cited, plus which models cited it, with every run.
  • Source changes

    Review new and lost citations.

Compare like-for-like runs to see which source URLs appeared, disappeared, or changed model coverage after a content update.
PRICING

Runs use normal per-call pricing.

Creating, managing, and reading a tracker is free. Scheduled and manual runs bill the saved /v1/citations checks at the listed per-model rate, up to the cost ceiling you confirm when activating.

QUESTIONS

Questions about AI citation tracker.

It stores every scheduled /v1/citations result: one query, its distinct sources with citedBy and count, and an optional exact-URL lookup.
No. One citations check accepts one query and at most one optional URL. Save another check when you want to watch a different query or URL.
count is the number of selected models that cited the URL in that one check. It is not a prompt count, because every saved check contains one query.
Yes. An authorized agent can use the tracker MCP tools to list trackers and retrieve their stored reports.
Each check uses the normal /v1/citations price for its selected models. Tracker management and report access do not add a subscription fee.
The tracker pauses instead of running above the maximum cost you confirmed at activation. You can review the new estimate before reactivating it.
